The Opportunist Rant of Nitish..

“Power makes everyone Selfish” – Confucious
Just like in every marriage, comes a point when the couples don’t fight or don’t separate but rather learn to adjust to each other. They neither have high expectations nor have any selfless desires to do any goodwill for each other but rather choose to limit their affection and expectations. The marriage of Bhartiya Janata Party and Janata Dal (United) has finally ended after their 17 years of long struggle in Bihar and at the National Political stage at a bitter note. The seeds of dissent within the JD (U) were sown long before Narendra Modi was elected as the BJP‘s chief of Parliamentary committee Board which even led to the 36 hours of resignation of veteran and founding member, BJP L.K.Advani . The fact that the parting was so acrimonious was unthinkable considering that the leaders of the two parties have always been amiable in the past.
The reasons which Nitish Kumar and Sharad Yadav have been busy giving to the media and have been explaining at the top of their voices is that they can’t compromise on the Secularist aspect of the PM candidate. This appears fake and feign because they have been with the BJP who was the main party behind the Babri Masjid’s demolition and have been constantly raising the voice for construction of the ‘Ram Mandir’. It appears quite churlish on JDU’s party that while they were supping with the devil for the last 17 years, they claim themselves to be clean now. The main reason is that if they support Narendra Modi  then they would lose the support of the backward Muslims in Bihar whom Nitish kumar had wooed after several attempts from Lalu Prasad’s side to his own and which actually became the reason for his land sliding victory in Bihar in the State Assembly .
While there is a strong voice among the youth who want Narendra Modi to become the next Prime Minister (60%), BJP faces a dilemma of fielding any other candidate in his place. His iconic image of the ‘CEO of Gujarat’ has shrouded the atrocities that the man had committed during the Godhra riots. The major reason for this being the numerous scams and corruption issues that have hit the headlines under the Congress regime. The nation stands at a crossroad where a man who is known as Corruption free even by American‘s research reports can only enliven its dream of becoming a World Super Power.
Under the present circumstances it easily appears that the JD(U) is playing opportunistic politics specially on behest of Nitish Kumar, who although was supporting the ‘communal’ BJP which always was known as the main force behind the Babri Masjid Demolition and the atrocities committed during Gujarat Riots but is now boasting that he is unwilling to compromise on the principals of the party in joining hands with the NDA now. It remains to be seen as to how the public responds to this sudden change both in the General Elections as well as the State Election of Bihar due in 2015.
